Located in northern Wisconsin, Ashland County borders Lake Superior – the biggest freshwater body of water in the world. This means there are endless opportunities for water activities and fun, from kayaking to scuba diving, boating and fishing. Chequamegon Bay on Ashland County’s northern edge is also known for world-class fishing. The coastline also offers spectacular beaches and plenty of areas for swimming and other water activities and sports. The beautiful area lighthouses also offer a glimpse at the area’s rich maritime history. The area also has miles and miles of trails for ATVing, biking, hiking, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
