Sun Prairie is perhaps best known as the home of “Jimmy the Groundhog,” famous every February 2nd. The city’s Angell Park Speedway plays host to the longest running weekly midget racing show in the country on its third-mile clay oval. The park is also home to the annual Sun Prairie Sweet Corn Festival that attracts more than 100,000 corn lovers every August. The city’s Family Aquatic Center sports a 210-foot water slide, numerous fountains, and sand volleyball.
