Aztalan State Park, a National Historic Landmark in Wisconsin, features an ancient Middle-Mississippian village and ceremonial complex dating from A.D. 1000 to 1300. Set amidst open prairie and oak woods, the park includes reconstructed portions of a village stockade and large, flat-topped earthen mounds.
