4 Autumn Art Fairs to Celebrate the Season

Each autumn, Wisconsin’s artists and craftspeople come together at art fairs throughout the state. And while you’re guaranteed to find a stunning selection of handmade goods, many art fairs around the state also offer an additional lineup of fun activities to keep you and your group entertained all day – from live music and farmer’s markets to wagon rides, children’s games, and more.

Here are just a few of the art fairs, festivals, and tours going on this fall.

Wausaukee Fall Festival – Wausaukee 

Over 100 crafters and vendors gather in downtown Wausaukee in Northwest Wisconsin for this autumnal celebration. In addition to local craft booths offering everything from jewelry to embroidery to birdhouses, stop by for a ride on a horse-drawn wagon and tasty food and drinks. The fun continues with live music, a farmer’s market, and more.

Fall Village Market – Mount Horeb 

Stop by downtown Mount Horeb for a weekend vendor market featuring vintage, upcycled and handmade goods. In addition to a wide selection of artistry and crafts, you and your crew can enjoy food trucks, live music and photo-ops with Main Street’s life-sized mythical creatures. Immerse yourself in local culture for two days of fun in the Troll Capitol of the World!

Have more fresh fall air fun with your group by hiking at nearby Blue Mounds State Park.

Fall Fair on the Square – Baraboo 

This semiannual fair features over 150 exhibitors including photographers, painters, sculptures, crafters and more from across the Midwest. A full-day family event, visitors will be treated to live music, children’s activities and performances, a farmers' market and other fun. A variety of local restaurants will also be serving up some of their best dishes on site, so be sure to come hungry!

No visit to Baraboo is complete without a stop at Circus World, with seven buildings filled with magical exhibits.

Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival – Hudson 

Art, in all its forms, is at the center of this celebration on the banks of the scenic St. Croix River. Over 80 juried artists will be showcasing their work in the Artist Village, while musicians will take the stage at the bandshell for a full day of fantastic entertainment. A number of downtown restaurants and businesses will also be joining in the fun, displaying creative scarecrows and offering tasty, seasonal treats.
