A Winter Wander Through Wisconsin's Indoor Markets

Share

When Wisconsin becomes a winter wonderland, you can still find fresh produce, cheese, baked goods, locally-made art and more at indoor markets throughout the state. Read on to discover your next winter weekend outing.

Southeast Wisconsin

Brookfield Winter Farmers' Market

This winter farmers’ market is located within the Brookfield Square Mall, so you can keep the shopping fun going all day. Discover local favorites, including pickled veggies, charcuterie boards, wellness products, jewelry, handcrafted wool items, pottery, candles, sourdough breads and much more.

Milwaukee Winter Farmers’ Market

Port Washington Winter Market

Stop in at Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington for the city’s winter market, which runs on select Saturdays through May. Beyond craft brews, you can shop local and find maple syrup, kombucha, baked goods and dog treats–just to name a few.

South Central Wisconsin

Dane County Farmers’ Market

The largest producer-only farmers’ market in the country doesn’t stop when the weather cools down–it just moves to Garver Feed Mill. You'll find the produce and goods you know and love from the outdoor market’s vendors, plus plenty more locally-produced items like fruits and vegetables, cheeses, hyper-local meats, honey, baked goods and many specialty items. Garver is also home to Ian’s Pizza and Ledger Coffee Roasters, making it easy to snack while you shop.

Beloit Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market

Head to Beloit to find a mix of art, crafts, produce, meats and food trucks, such as Panela Coffee, Backyard Barbeque and more every Saturday from November to April at the Winter Crafter & Farmers’ Market. There are also family-friendly activities each week, so be sure to bring the little ones.

Janesville Winter Farmers’ Market

Visit the former Janesville Mall to enjoy this city's lively Winter Farmers’ Market that includes coffee, pot pies, succulents, handcrafted leather goods, eggs, preserves, art and Naan Stop Fusion food cart.

North Central Wisconsin

The Minocqua Winter Market

This vacation destination puts on a lively winter market every Sunday through mid-April. Shop for kettle corn, homemade sauces, Indian baked goods, hot honey, microgreens and much more before exploring the area together.

Wisconsin Rapids Winter Farmers’ Market

This winter market offers a delicious brunch to keep you fueled up while you shop for homemade bakery items, tamales, soaps, freeze-dried foods and beyond.

Stevens Point Area Winter Farmers’ Market

Also offering rotating brunch vendors, the Stevens Point Area Winter Farmer’s Market includes locally produced food and handcrafted goods from within 100 miles of Stevens Point. The market takes place every Saturday through April and includes Slap Bang Bagel, Liberation Farmers, Lonely Oak Farm, Naughty Eggrolls and Afghan Kabul Cuisine serving up hot food this season.

Northwest Wisconsin

Bring the kids to the Manitowoc Winter Farmers’ Market to enjoy family-friendly activities, live music and–for the adults–a bloody mary and mimosa bar.

Indoor Winter Market Sturgeon Bay

If you’re visiting Door County’s Sturgeon Bay this winter, be sure to stop in at Third Avenue Playworks to find a tasty array of locally-made goodies. The city’s indoor winter market coincides with the Fire & Ice Festival that includes luminary-lit hikes, snow and ice carving, free trolley rides, glass blowing demonstrations and more, as well as the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Baileys Harbor Winter Market

One Saturday a month through April, Baileys Harbor Winter Market offers a cozy atmosphere for visitors and residents alike. Visit to discover local crafters and artisans showcasing their handmade items, including unique crafts, artisanal foods and seasonal products.

Located inside the historic Main Street Station building, at the Viroqua Public Market, local vendors sell a variety of goods in a space designed to look like an outdoor market, with street lamps, real trees and even caged doves.
