Escape the Cold: 9 Green Bay Eateries to Watch the Packer Game

Share

As important as the game itself, tailgating at Lambeau Field is a time-honored tradition you must experience. But when the Frozen Tundra temperatures head toward single digits, consider these options for indoor comfort while keeping that game-day energy. Come before or after, or even stay to watch the game in Green Bay.

Johnsonville Tailgate Village

What’s tailgating without brats? Renowned bratwurst maker, Johnsonville, hosts this covered and heated space with a central bar and with quick lines right inside the east parking lot. Walk your gang through the thousands of tailgaters in the east lot for some high fives, then head on in for live music, drinks and Johnsonville sausage products. Watch the game on the 35 plasma screens and win prizes.

Stadium View Bar

This legendary bar gets up to 15,000 fans in their 5-acre parking lot, but has 70 TVs and 30,000 sq. ft. in their indoor event space. Enjoy burgers, wings and many shareables with your friends. More than 300 lbs. of cheese curds are sold on game day.

Anduzzi’s

Sunday morning bloody marys are another Wisconsin tradition, and this sports bar one block east of the stadium takes the drink to another level with the garnishes. Never mind pickles or celery; we’re talking sliders, wings, shrimp and cheese cubes skewered and mounted in a giant mug—enough to share with a friend. Enjoy the full menu of food and drink with a slew of TVs showing the game.

1919 Kitchen & Tap

While this sleek resto overlooking the stadium’s atrium is open to the public daily throughout the year, only those with tickets can get in on game day. Named for the year the Packers were founded, 1919 opens at 8 a.m. on Sundays (or six hours before the game on other days).

Hinterland Brewery

Part of the Titletown development on the west side of the stadium, Hinterland is an award-winning craft brewery with upscale pub fare and wood-fired pizzas served in a large dining area. A perfect place for your group to sip Packerland Pilsners and come in from the cold after the game.

Can’t get enough on game day, consider making it a weekend trip and explore even more things to do in Titletown.

The Bar on Holmgren Way

Expect a huge festive indoor space with large-screen TVs and a live band and a fireplace outside if you brave the elements. The menu hits all the marks with burgers, pizzas, mac & cheese, and, notably, gluten-free cheese curds and wings so everyone in your party can enjoy them. It’s only a block and a half from the stadium, but they run a shuttle.

D2 Sports Pub

A half block from the stadium’s east parking lot, the bar is known for housemade pizzas and some of the best chicken wings in town, and with 50 TVs, everyone has a direct view of the game. The bar pre-sells VIP wristbands so your gang can get access to a menu of unlimited food and drink.

Kroll’s West

Right across Ridge Road from the stadium, this family-owned restaurant and lounge is popular for its char-grilled butter burgers, hot soups (including booyah) to chase away the chill, pizzas for sharing with your group, and a small-portion menu for the kids (hot dogs, PB&J). The lounge serves adult bevvies, and you can all watch the game on the 15 screens throughout the place.

Badger State Brewing

When the temps drop, tailgaters in the popular beer garden at this local brewery move into the high-ceiling taproom, and a food truck supplements their snack menu. After kickoff, kick back with a Game Day IPA with your bestie and watch the Packers on a couple of large-screen TVs.
