This clothing exhibit will showcase the garments and gowns of Victorian weddings from the collections of the Wisconsin Historical Society in the various rooms of the Villa Louis Mansion. Each garment will be an appropriate example of what Mrs. Dousman and her daughters would have worn. Included in the exhibit is one very special gown, worn by Virginia Dousman for her 1904 wedding held on the West Lawn of Villa Louis. The exhibition tells the story of both the dresses, rarely displayed due to their fragile nature, and the women who wore them.
