It all started with an idea to turn a caboose into a cabin near the Sparta bike trails. Most of the other renovated cabooses that I'd seen looked more like a motel room than a caboose on the inside. We wanted to keep the interior and exterior of the caboose looking like it did when it was in service so people could see what a working caboose looked like. Of course we added all the comforts of home! Coming from the West on I90: Take the first Sparta exit and turn left toward Sparta. Drive north to the first set of lights and turn right onto Avon Road. Follow Avon which turns into Water until you pass over the railroad tracks. Caboose Cabins is just 1/2 block past the tracks on the left. Coming from the East on I90: Take the first Sparta exit and turn right onto Hwy 16. Follow 16 into Sparta and take a left at the first set of lights (Water St.). Follow Water street south for 2 long blocks to Caboose Cabins on the Right. (If you go over railroad tracks you've gone to far)
