A gem of Waupaca County is the Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes with its 22 interconnected, spring fed lakes where you’ll find abundant recreational opportunities in and on its crystal clear waters. With all that water, there’s no end to the fun you can have, from fishing to tubing and canoeing. The Wolf River, for instance, is perfect for whitewater rafting in the spring and lazy river tubing in the summer. And Waupaca County is home to some fantastic events including the Iola Old Car Show, the biggest car show in the Midwest with up to 2,500 show cars. And catch a rodeo in Manawa. Known as Rodeo City, Manawa features one of the best professional rodeos in the Great Lakes Circuit. When the snow flies, head to the Iola Winter Sports Complex for ski jumping and more than four miles of lighted cross country ski trails. And don’t go home empty handed! There are over a hundred charming gift and specialty shops and antiques stores to explore.
