Trail Description

Platteville has about 200 acres of public open space and over 10 miles of trails connecting users to places across the state like Governor Dodge State Park, New Glarus, Madison, Freeport, IL, and beyond. All trails are free and open to the public. The Platteville Community Arboretum manages about 4 miles of the Platteville Trail Network along the Rountree Branch stream. It features grassland, wetlands, savanna and hardwood habitats, and a Class 1 Trout stream. Along the paved and lit trail are informational kiosks, picnic tables, benches, art installations, and native garden plots. There is a seasonal, portable toilet north of the Progressive Parkway trail entrance and near the Dog Park.
