Built in 1853. Rebuilt 1894. 113' tall. No tours. Private caretaker's residence. The tallest octagonal skeletal light tower and the only one of its kind on the Great Lakes. Manually operated until 1979. The present light system was installed in 1987. Ships can see the light 28 miles away. Point Beach State Park provides a walking trail for viewing the lighthouse.
