Approximately 14 miles of mostly paved trail traverses Milwaukee County from Lake Michigan to the Waukesha County line passing several points of interest including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Harley Davidson Museum and Miller Park.
The River Loop section of Hank Aaron State Trail will be closed beginning Monday, July 14, 2025 through winter 2026 for replacement of the 16th St. bridge. The trail along Canal St. (between 13th and 25th streets) will remain open during this time.
