Vibrant Hydrants - Community Art
This event has expired. This may be a recurring event, so please check the calendar in the future for updated occurrences.
For this Art Walking Tour we will be joined by Ryan Swain, Jessica Fuchs, Dawn Cieszynski, and Sapphira Afifi, who are four of the commissioned artists who painted these hydrants. Learn more about their artistic practice and design inspiration when creating this public art project. The Madison Public Art Project worked with the City of Monona Fire and EMS Department on this project to pay tribute and honor the firefighters, first responders, and those who lost their lives on 9/11/2001. Vibrant Hydrant offers a creative way for neighbors and visitors to connect together using art as dialogue to take steps toward a more inclusive and peaceful world.
The entire walking tour will be 1 hr, walking at a moderate pace. There is a slight hill heading north. We will stop briefly at each hydrant plus a few others along the way and will include local murals as well. Members of the community can ask questions during the artist talk Q&A. Please register your FREE tickets to attend. Space is limited. All are welcome.
