QWERTYFEST MKE is all about celebrating Milwaukee's innovation and having a blast while doing it. The star of the show is the typewriter, which was invented right here in Milwaukee by Christopher Latham Sholes 151 years ago. The same keyboard, known as the "QWERTY" keyboard, is still used on our phones and computers today.

This event is for everyone who wants to join in some quirky, nerdy fun while recognizing a piece of Milwaukee's history that's used by billions of people worldwide today. The weekend agenda is packed with parties, live music, workshops, cemetery tours, a marketplace, presentations, brunch, and more, happening all over the city.

Feel free to attend as many events as you like—some are free, and some require tickets.
