Visitors are invited to step back in time and experience the sights and sounds of 18th- and early 19th-century Wisconsin at the Plankroad Rendezvous, held on the scenic grounds of Taylor Park.

This fun-filled weekend celebrates Wisconsin’s Fur Trade Era (1750–1840). Historical reenactors will bring the era to life, sharing stories and demonstrating the daily activities of those who lived in the region before statehood.

Hands-on Activities Include:

Sports Demos – Try your hand at atlatl throwing, knife throwing, black powder shooting, and archery

Explore – Go on an Animal Scavenger Hunt across the Museum campus

Compete – Enter the public atlatl competition (or try it out just for fun)

Play – Make beeswax lip balm, play Fur Trade-era games, and snap a pic at the selfie station

Talks & Workshops—Attend engaging sessions on Indigenous worldviews, era-specific grooming and style, Sheboygan’s fur trade history, and more.

Whether you're a history buff or just looking for something fun and educational, there’s something for everyone. Visit the website for the full schedule and details.
