In early May, 38 new custom, hand-painted banners created by local artists are hung on lamp posts along Main Street and on the 100 block of S. Third St. The banners will remain up until the end of September when they will be cleaned and sold at auction at the Watertown Elks Lodge. Proceeds from the banner auction go toward downtown beautification projects. Art on Main walking tour brochures and voting ballots are available from May-September and can be found at the Main Street office (519 E Main St.) or at Wepco Printing (106 S. Sixth St.). Art on Main banner voting ends September 1. The winners will be announced at the banner auction. The evening will begin with a special banner preview party from 5-6pm. where refreshments will be served. The auction will start at 6pm followed by live music.
