Knox Creek Heritage Center
The Knox Creek Heritage Center, an affiliate of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin, is composed of eight buildings and artifacts representing several ethnic groups in southeastern Price County: the Main Farm House, circa 1900 furnished in period style, a summer kitchen building now used as a Gift Shop, the Keto House, circa 1900, with exhibits that include a logging display, a display of the Co-op era, and memorabilia from the schools in the area from the late 1800s to present), Spirit Baptist Church, circa 1890, the Waahto Sauna built in the early 1900s, moved to the site and restored, a log building, recently restored, with artifacts from the early settler's era, a shelter erected to house a threshing machine, a tractor that would have been used to run the thresher, a 1920s tractor and other farm implements, a pole shed that houses exhibits about the agricultural era, tools that early tradesmen used, a blacksmith display and other artifacts. All the buildings on the site are used to display artifacts, documents, photographs, and other memorabilia that represent the cultural, ethnic, and historical aspect of past eras. Four ethnically themed events are sponsored by the center each year.
