Kimball Lake Resort is a small housekeeping resort located in a beautiful wooded area near Minong in the northwest corner of Washburn County. Four traditional lakeshore cabins -- one with two bedrooms and the others with three bedrooms -- are located in a natural wooded setting overlooking the shores of Lower Kimball Lake. The newer St. Croix Trail cabin is located alone in the woods for even more privacy to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Northwoods. Lower Kimball Lake (129 acres) is the largest of the chain of three small, spring-fed, clear-water lakes that offer our guests good fishing opportunities for bass and panfish amid peaceful surroundings with no water skiing or jet skiing. If you're not here for the fishing, the peaceful surroundings will give you plenty of chance to relax and escape the noise of the city. A small, sandy beach area allows guests to cool off on hot days, and there's plenty of room to roam with hiking trails throughout the resort's 139 acres of wooded land surrounding the cabins. If you prefer fall or winter get-aways, we keep two cabins open year-round and have convenient access to roads connecting to snowmobile and ATV trails.
