The North Lakeland Discovery Center is a year-round, community-based nature center offering drop-in activities for all ages. Enjoy an interpretive trail, bog boardwalk, active waterfront, and hike/bike/ski/snowshoe trails. The center provides a variety of programs, from outdoor recreation and nature education to hands-on learning and social gatherings. As a designated Great Wisconsin Birding and Nature Trail site, it’s the perfect place to explore and connect with nature.

Nestled on 66 peaceful acres along Statehouse Lake in the Northern Highland State Forest, the Discovery Center is dedicated to exploring, preserving, and enhancing the region's natural, cultural, and historic resources. Offerings include:

Year-round programs for all ages

Children’s programs and the Nature Nook

Canoe and kayak trips, guided hikes, and sailing lessons

Annual events like the Birding Festival (May) and Just Tri-It Triathlon (early July)

20+ km of hike, bike, and groomed ski/snowshoe trails
