Oneida Nation Tourism
Oneida Tourism is dedicated to promoting Oneida and all it has to offer. Our Oneida Nation Village is coming alive with the construction of the traditional long house. Long houses were the original natural dwellings of the Oneida. This area will feature what life was like for the Oneidas in the 1700s, as their lifestyle changed with the infusion of western ways through the transition of becoming successful farmers in Wisconsin. These farm days are represented by five 100+ year old log homes originally inhabited on the reservation. There is also an amphitheater which hosts a variety of events, including; musical acts, storytellers and the colorful smoke dancers.
In addition to the Oneida Nation Village the Oneida Nation Cultural Tour takes visitors to the buffalo overlook. The Oneida brought back buffalo in 1999, and has raised a herd of 125 head. Down the road is the 100 year old Episcopal Church that was the center of the Oneida community when the Oneidas first came to the Green Bay area. Finally, the Museum has a fun hand-on area furnished with items found in a long house or add a hands on class like corn husk doll making to your agenda. There are many other areas that Oneida has to offer and we would be happy to assist you in creating a tour tailored to your guests.
