About Madeline Island Ferry Line
The Madeline Island Ferry Line provides transportation between the picturesque communities of Bayfield and La Pointe. The 25-minute voyage offers spectacular views of Lake Superior and several of the 22 Apostle Islands, making the journey part of the experience.
Whether you bring a car or bicycle aboard the ferry or travel as walk-on passengers, there are plenty of ways to spend a day on Madeline Island. Miles of sandy beaches, hiking trails, downtown strolls and flat terrain for biking offer opportunities to explore at any pace. You can also experience Big Bay Town Park by canoe or paddle to the sea caves at Big Bay State Park with your own kayak or as part of a guided tour.
Dogs ride free on the ferry and are welcome aboard, but must be kept on a leash and attended at all times.
