Beloved Big Top Chautauqua performers Cheryl Leah and Ed Willett bring their longtime musical partnership to the lakeshore as The Chance Ensemble—a rare voice and cello duo known for their emotional depth and striking originality. With 38 years of shared creative history, their performances are rich with intimacy, power, and artistry.

Forged in the bustle of Los Angeles and rooted now in the wild beauty of the Northwoods, Cheryl and Ed’s music moves seamlessly between genres—drawing from classical influences, original compositions, and a lifetime of storytelling through song. It’s a sound that’s both haunting and uplifting, anchored by Ed’s masterful cello work and Cheryl’s unforgettable voice.

Concerts by the Lake are held every Tuesday and Thursday from June 10 through August 28, 2025, at Memorial Park, with Lake Superior as the backdrop. All shows are free and open to the public.

Bring a blanket or chair and experience a unique evening of musical connection. Leashed dogs are welcome, too!
