Michigan Island Lighthouse
Built: 1857. A 112' tower was added to the station in 1929. The island has a dock and is accessible by boat. Only the most experienced private boaters and sea kayakers should consider attempting a trip to this lighthouse, due to the great distance and exposed location. Even when lake conditions permit approach, the exposed location of the dock often makes landing impossible. Special cruises offer views of the station.
