Giant White Pine Grove State Natural Area
One of the best examples of mature, northern mesic forest in northeastern Wisconsin. Located in the Headwaters Wilderness Area, the forest canopy of this 30-acre site contains large hemlock, sugar maple, yellow birch, and basswood. Huge white pines, some more than 3 feet in diameter, tower above the forest.
