Popple Ridge Horse Trail
Bring your horse to the Popple Ridge Trail, located in the eastern end of Langlade County off Hwy 55. The trail is in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and is approximately 25 miles long. It offers a variety of terrains and beautiful scenery of forests, ponds, rivers, and lakes. A derecho storm on July 19, 2019, affected the trail and closed it for cleanup for almost four years!
This trail is managed by the Triple R Horse-Riding Club along with other volunteers.
The trail is marked throughout by horseshoe signs and "You Are Here" signs at major intersections.
The trail passes through the Silver Birch horse-riding trail system, with beautiful scenery of forests, ponds, rivers & lakes.
There is a primitive camping area available. There is water near the camp at a small stream on Setting Lake Road.
