Adams Community Theatre LTD
Adams Theatre opened on December 5,1946. Special permission was granted to light the marquee for the opening as electricity was a precious commodity right after WWII. The original “air conditioning” at Adams Theatre was a “swamp cooler” system. There was no running hot water in the building until 2012.
The Adams Theatre has been operating since at least 1941 and is located on Main Street in downtown Adams.
It initially screened first run features (now classic & revivals) and has a video rental/sales in the lobby of the theatre. The theatre has a multicolor stone facade with an exterior box office. The marquee is flat and runs from one side of the building to the other. There is also a vertical sign with “Adams” in neon. Looks like it was remodeled during the early-1950’s.
