Enjoy discovering the wonders of nature found here! This is one of 14 featured Door County Land Trust nature preserves that showcase the scenic beauty and natural diversity that make Door County so special. Nature preserves are open to the public at no charge for hiking, skiing, photography, nature study and other low-impact, non-motorized activities. 

Trail winds through a northern hardwood forest that includes sugar maple, American beech, red oak, white cedar, hemlock, white pine, basswood and ash. Spring wildflowers such as trillium, bellwort, downy yellow and long-spurred violets, Solomon’s seal, baneberry, wild sarsaparilla and Canada mayflower are found in the forest understory. Trail connects to the Washington Island Heritage Nature Trail that is owned and maintained by the Town of Washington.
