With more than a hundred restaurants in Wisconsin Dells, it's tough to know where to go for a romantic night out with your special someone. We've handpicked a few eateries that have character, an intimate atmosphere and superb food for an unforgettable (and delectable) meal.
House of Embers is a Dells favorite. You won't find a more intimate experience than in one of their three personal dining chambers: the Humphrey Bogart, Valentino, and the Omar Sharif rooms. The first of the three to be created, the two-person Omar Sharif Room has been the setting for an estimated 500 marriage proposals.
Once you're seated, don't miss the signature ribs on the menu, which feature a dry spice rub before they're smoked, slow cooked, and served with secret sauce. Steak and seafood also are favorites here.
The mantra at Field's is "We are ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen," so be prepared to transform a simple night out into something exceptional. The stone hearth fireplaces and distinct water features create an intimate atmosphere for one-on-one time. In fact, every table in the restaurant enjoys a view of the beautiful surroundings.
Not only are the hospitality, design and decorations of the highest quality, you won't be disappointed with the outstanding cuisine. Take your steak to the next level with one of the enhancing options such as Field's Style, featuring parmesan cheese and mushrooms, or Wildhorse Pinot Noir Sauce.
Kaminski's, one of America's top 10 chophouses and a 50-year institution in Wisconsin Dells, features hand-cut, dry-aged steaks and a variety of seafood delights, along with well-paired wines – the perfect recipe for a special dinner for two. Every entrée comes with Kaminski's Famous Garbage Salad, and there are a number of options to personalize your steak with different crusts and sauces, as well as enhancers for your meal.
As an added bonus, all the meat and produce is sourced locally whenever possible. For a stunning view overlooking the Wisconsin River, be sure to ask for a window table.
Dine amongst the pines at Ishnala Supper Club, where classic Wisconsin favorites are served with a side of gorgeous lake views. Open through October and located within beautiful Mirror Lake State Park, Ishanala has gained recognition for their outstanding menu and superior service.
Start you meal with a cocktail from the Arrowhead Bar; where their specialty drink, the “Chief Ishnala,” has been served for over 50 years; then move into the dining room for prime rib, seafood and more in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. With each seat offering stunning natural views, you’ll soon see why Ishnala is the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and enjoy dinner for two.
For a true Wisconsin Dells tradition, a five-star feast at The Del-Bar is a must. Established in 1939 by the Wimmer family, this classic supper club started as a log cabin with room for only six tables. Since then, it has been redesigned by James Dresser, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright.
For a glimpse back in time, you'll still find the original log cabin room, which is now referred to as the Garden Room. This time-honored steak house is best known for top-quality and perfectly cooked cuts and fresh seafood, served with all the fixings – including a fresh baked roll, garden salad, and choice of potato – not to mention the extensive wine list to pair beautifully with your meal.
