Milwaukee-based songwriter and performer Marielle Allschwang, whose debut album Dead Not Done has been called “aurally-enthralling and emotionally-arresting,” presents a new project, Precession of a Day: The World of Mary Nohl. This song cycle explores the life and work of artist Mary Nohl (1914–2001). Precession of a Day utilizes a variety of musicians and approaches as well as an immersive video environment composed from steady, uncut shots in and around Mary Nohl’s artist-built environment—her home on the shore of Lake Michigan.
